The game of cricket thrives on fascinating duel between ball and bat. Cricket was originated in England. Since then it has traveled a long way in terms of reach and popularity. England and Australia were the first two nations to indulge in this form of the game.

India was a late entrant in the world of cricket and during initial years India had to face lots of struggles. But courtesy the rule of British in India, Indians were quite aware of the game. Few Indians like Ranjitsinghji, Duleepsinghji and Nawab of Pataudi (Senior) had already made a mark in the English league in early 1900s.

The governing body of cricket is ICC (International Cricket Council) that was established in 1929. India first played its test match against England in 1932. That was the beginning of the most popular game in India.
